After our very belated departure I picked up Rosie on Thursday evening and we made our way up the Hume and out of the state, pulling over for the night in Albury. Friday was possibly the longest I have sat still in my life and despite gettting a tad sick of the songs on my ipod and being waved to by passer byes (Truckies, over campervaners etc) we had a safe and smooth journey. Friday night was spent in Macksville, south of Coffs Harbour in a nice car space by the river. Little did we realise Friday nights in Macksville brings out all the drunks and bogans, as we lay in bed listening to them doing donuts and stumbling drunk along the street we seriously hoped they wouldn't notice George and try rocking him or even pushing him in the river. Safe to say we survived and woke to a beautiful foggy morning and only a few hours drive up the highway to the Gold Coast!
So now here I am, well and truly settling in to the campervan lifestyle and forgetting that everything I own is in the back of the car - this has been helpful when we've been caught out needed a knife, a spare towel, or a serviette.
A brief checklist of some random achievements so far:
- made it out of Victoria CHECK (finally)
- made friends with a few random travellers at the road stops along the way CHECK

Anyway that's about it for now. Below are a few photos of Rosie and I on our journey.
